PATHFINDER TRADER™ COMPONENTS OVERVIEW
Once PathFinder Trader™ is launched for the first time, a default workspace will be loaded. A workspace is essentially the platform’s overall structure that a trader uses when utilizing PathFinder. All the windows, parameters, properties, etc., can all be edited to fit the user’s needs and preferences.
This generally includes the Quotes Board, charts, Scalper Book, Message Log and PathScript Files Panel. However, there are more possible windows that can be added to the workspace.

Default Platform Components
The Quotes Board
The Quotes Board is the section of the platform that users are able to add and subtract different instruments for their trading purposes through the use of the Symbol Manager.
The Quotes Board’s main function is being a watch-list of streaming real-time quotes for different instruments. Also, “custom” instruments can be built between different data-feeds; or within the same data-feed, but using different financial products. This feature is referred to as “Spread Trading.”
Whether there is only one broker per platform, or 25 brokers per platform, all data feeds with current rates will be listed on the Quotes Board. Since multiple brokers are able to be listed in a single place, accounts from different brokers can be traded at the same time.
Charts
The charting package that PathFinder Trader™ comes equipped with is extremely advanced and innovated. PathFinder Trader™’s cutting edge technology allows traders to fully customize their charting environment in almost every aspect.
There are over 60 highly used technical analysis indicators, not including custom-made indicators bundled with the platform. Also, the numerous drawing tools, charting styles and volume studies make PathFinder Trader™ a very unique piece of software. Going deeper, templates, colors and workspaces can be fully adjusted to fit a trader’s desired style.
Lastly, with chart-trading integration, users are able to trade directly off the charts with simple and complex orders; without having to go back and forth between the Trade Pad and execution buttons.
The Scalper Book
The Scalper Book, also known as the depth of market (DOM) or level 2 trading, is the section of the platform that many users (especially the scalpers) find extremely appealing.
This application allows users to have a detailed look into the market of how other parties are placing their pending orders. By having access to this information, people will have the ability to analyze supply and demand scenarios for particular instruments. Tools like the Scalper Book can be a great aid to short-term traders such as scalpers.
PathFinder Trader™ also allows direct trading off of the Scalper Book. If trading off of the Scalper Book is combined with “one-click-trading,” then this feature can lead to the perfect workspace for certain individuals that require fast execution.
PathScript™ Files Panel
The PathScript Files Panel is a panel made of two tabs: scripts and indicators. These tabs contain all the custom-made indicators, as well as the automated strategies, that were created with PathScript Editor.
Strategies and custom indicators can be simply dragged onto a chart or edited from the panel. For a detailed look on how to create your own PathScript indicators and strategies, please visit the 'Automated Trading' section of the manual.
Message Log
The Message Log is a very important window because it provides a “journal” of vital information for the user. Important information such as trade confirmations, data-feed messages, errors, trade rejections, etc., can all be found on the Message Log.
Order Manager
The Order Manager is a very important and informative window that displays needed information including current and pending orders, recent realized trades, trade quantity size, free margin, account/equity balance, directional trades, etc.
A total of 26 column types are available within the portfolio windows properties. This can create a very lax or detailed specific Order Manager; which can be modified to fit a specific trader’s need.
Trades History
The Trades History window provides data that shows all order types and their statuses that the user participated in. Overall, the history that this window provides is very flexible.
Users can see the Trades History of the most recent day, or they can receive the entire history of when they first started using PathFider Trader. Furthermore, there are status filters and detailed trade reports that the software can provide.
Economic Calendar
The Economic Calendar provides information pertaining to the world’s economy in its own window. This particular function can be very useful for fundamental traders; as well as traders that only follow the news. Many detailed reports are provided for all industries.
PathFinder Trader™’s Economic Calendar provides not only the date and time the expected news is going to come out, but also the source and projected forecasts. Additionally, there is a table that shows the forecasted impact on the economy.
Trade Pad
The Trade Pad is a window that allows users to add and modify trades. This application has all the desired portfolio data-feeds, the ability to allow complex orders, and finally an expiration date for any particular purpose .
