GENERAL OPTIONS AND SETTINGS OVERVIEW
General Options
The General Options window control the default settings for PathFinder Trader™. In order to access the General Options, the user must:
| Step 1 | Go to the Tools menu option located on the Main Menu Toolbar. |
| Step 2 | Choose General Options from the pull-down menu. |
The General Options & Settings Window
1. Platform Time
Users can adjust the Platform Time information to either GMT or Local Time. The local time is based on the computer’s operating system time setting. This setting applies to all components located on PathFinder Trader™. This means that any area, such as charts, that contain time, it will display the chosen time option.
2. Workspace
Users can set a specific workspace to be loaded whenever the platform is launched. This is accomplished by clicking the downside arrow within the Workspace section. This will reveal available workspaces to be loaded when the platform is launched.
In order to save a particular workspace, users can follow instruction below:
| Step 1 | Go to the File menu option located on the Main Menu Toolbar. |
| Step 2 | Choose Workspace from the pull-down menu. |
| Step 3 | Choose Save Workspace from the side menu. |
Autosave Workspace
Enable or disable the Autosave Workspace function by adding or removing the checkmark from the associated box. This function will save the active workspace every time the user properly exits PathFinder Trader™.
Silent Overwrite
Enable or disable the Silent Overwrite function by adding or removing the checkmark from the associated box. If enabled, the platform will not prompt the user with a confirmation warning when saving or changing a workspace file; as well as exiting the platform.
3. Trade Options
The Trade Options section provides users with particular functions, such as one-click-trading and voice alerts.
Remove Order Confirmation (One-Click-Trading)
Enable or disable the One-Click-Trading function by adding or removing the checkmark from the associated box. Active traders may want to enable this feature when trading execution is essential to his or her strategy. Users will be able to remove order confirmations when trading an instrument.
The One-Click-Trading feature will remove all popup confirmation windows when executing any trade orders on the ScalperBook, Charts or Forex View windows.
Voice Alert on Portfolio Update
Enable or disable the Voice Alert function by adding or removing the checkmark from the associated box. PathFinder Trader™ can play a Voice Alert every time there are changes in a user’s portfolio.
4. Message Popups
Show Popup on Order Status Changes
Enable or disable the Show Popup Order Status Changes function by adding or removing the checkmark from the associated box.
The Show Popup Order Status Changes function provides users with popup notifications every time there are changes on orders. If the function is enabled, the platform would provide pop-up notifications on the bottom right corner of platform in a new window.
Show Popup on Order Errors
Enable or disable the Show Popup Order Errors function by adding or removing the checkmark from the associated box. The Show Popup on Order Errors notification would appear whenever the user makes an order that the API does not recognize (error).
Show Popup on Application Messages
Enable or disable the Show Popup on Application Messages function by adding or removing the checkmark from the associated box. The Show Popup on Application Messages function return messages from applications.
5. Data Servers

Enabling both extra functions below may decrease trading platform performance substantially.

Enable DDE Server
Enable or disable the DDE (Dynamic Data Exchange) function by adding or removing the checkmark from the associated box.
DDE is a windows protocol that uses a client/server model in which PathFinder Trader™ is considered the server. More specifically, it enables a channel to transfer real-time market data between an active PathFinder Trader™ platform and a DDE client such as Excel, Word, etc.

Enable Remoting Server
Enable or disable the Remoting Server function by adding or removing the check-mark symbol from the associated box. The Remoting Server function enables a protocol which connects to an active instance of PathFinder Trader™ and retrieves Datamanager objects through a TCP/IP port that accommodates this service.
Users can access many PathFinder Trader™ API functions with Datamanager objects including receive and subscribe market data, receive and subscribe orders, etc.
