The PathScript™ Language
Designed for Trading Automation, PathFinder Trader includes the powerful and
versatile PathScript, a non-procedural scientific vector programming language
that was designed specifically for developing trading systems. The language
provides the framework required to build sophisticated trading programs piece by
piece without extensive training or programming experience. It includes several
built-in-in functions that make programming easier.
Vector programming languages (also known as
array or multidimensional languages) generalize
operations on scalars to apply transparently to
vectors, matrices, and higher dimensional
arrays. The fundamental idea behind vector
programming is that operations apply at once to
an entire set of values (a vector or field).
This allows you to think and operate on whole
aggregates of data, without having to resort to
explicit loops of individual scalar operations.

PathScript provides many built-in technical analysis functions, enabling you to use a single line of code you to calculate functions such as Moving Averages, Bollinger Bands, Japanese Candlesticks, and so on. Nearly any type of trading system can be developed using the PathScript programming language with minimal effort. If a system can be expressed in mathematical terms or programmed in any structured, procedural language such as C++, VB, or Java for example, then, the same formulas can also be programmed using the PathScript programming language. Ultimately, your work can be tested using the included back testing feature, allowing you to fine tune your strategy performance, and when you are ready you can enable PathFinder Trader for live automated trading.
